Cihangir Terrace

I stayed 2 weeks (well, last days in Silent Balcony) in Cihangir Terrace. This was my first visit to Istanbul. To rent a flat was the right desicion.
Everything was as told. The flat(s) and the area around much better than I expected. Nice shops and restaurants/cafe just next to building. Cihangir is an interesting area - and very close to Taksim square and main street (Istiklal Caddesi). If ever again to Istanbul (and I bet I will be there again) will look forward to this flat again!

First of all, I apologize to both Metehan and Tarkan for being almost unacceptably late with the comments on the Cihangir Terrace and my stay during 2010/2011 New Year period.
Thank you guys for making my stay a real pleasure. I have already been in love with Istanbul for 12 years now so there was not much you could do in that regard :) but your professionalism and hospitality made me feel like at home. I may try a different apartment but you should definitely count on my arrival for New Year 2011/12 for sure. I would never stay in a hotel now that I know you unless you are totally booked and I am forced.

We stayed at the flat during August 2010 and the flat surpassed all expectations. It was absolute luxury to wake up and have breakfast on the balcony with such a spectacular view over Istanbul, including the Galata Tower - it has to be seen to be appreciated. The flat was light and spacious and staying in it really made our trip to Istanbul something special. Would definitely stay there again if we had the chance and would cannot recommend it strongly enough. Our host made everything as smooth as possible so our stay was problem-free. A real treat!

We stayed in Cihangir Terrace from 1-8 July 2010. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as the flat was comfortable and met all our needs particularly the balcony's, wireless internet connection and air conditioning.
We also loved the location which was in a great neighbourhood i.e. lively but quiet too, perfect! Aslo within walking distance to Taksim sq and the supermarket was a very short walk away which was also ideal.
A big thanks to Metahan who, apart from speaking great English, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Everything was clear and the instructions and information in the flat were also excellent.
If your looking for somewhere that's not flashy but comfortable we would highly recommend this apartment. Istanbul was absolutely fantastic, the people were kind and helpful. A brilliant stay, Many thanks,

we spent one week there and the terrace is perfect!!
we feel so comfortable there and we're sure that if we'd come again in Istanbul we'll stay again in "our" apartment.

We had 8 nghts in his lovely top floor apartment.December,but the sun poured in and we wished we could have spared an afternoon to sit out on the terrace.But Istanbul does not lend itself to sitting around.We had a view of the Galata tower so that was our night time treat.
Again,Metehan and Taran were the greatest hosts-our turn next time.
Thoroughly recomend the apartment and the area-heaps of supermarkets-yes we did cook in some nights despite the lovely cafes and eating houses about us.Heaps of supermarkets and other yummy shops.Not to mention this is the heart of antique shops-a treasure trove-a pain we had to travel on and not home with what we-I could have bought.Easy if sometimes challenging walking but that has to be the nature of Istanbul and so much of its charm lies in walking.
Another time is planned-we are sorry that we live so far away and cannot visit more often.Trust this site and your hosts-you will have no regrets

We really loved our week in this apartment and the neighbourhood was wonderfully interesting; full of life (and cats). We would have liked a little more lighting in the kitchen area to make cooking easier, but apart from that small complaint everything was just wonderful.

We hope to return to Istanbul in a year or so and will certainly try to stay here again or in another of Mehetan's apartments

Ein wunderschönes Appartment mit einer wunderbaren Terrasse, ein großartiger Blick, da wollte man am liebsten gleich auf der Terasse übernachten. Alles was man braucht, ist vorhanden, und Vermieter Metehan Özkan ist sehr hilfreich. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in Cihangir... Absolut empfehlenswert, jeden Euro Miete wert!

I had a wonderful stay in Cihangir Terrase. A helpful landlord, an ideal location, very complete furshishing, and a terrase that is perfect for dinning under Istanbul summer nights skies... What else can one ask for? I definitely recommend this appartement.

We stayed at Cihangir Terrace in January this year and would recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable base from which to explore Istanbul. The apartment is well set up for cooking and is near shops to buy supplies. It has lovely views of the Galata Tower and Istanbul skyline from the lounge room and balcony. It is also very convenient for going out to the fantastic nightclubs and cafes in Taksim and Beyoglu. In the 2 weeks we stayed we went to all sorts of concerts ranging from classical to rock - and all within 15 minutes walk.

The week that we stayed at Cihangir Terrace was unforgettable for the two of us for all its positive aspects. The place was all that was promised, and something more. Spacious, neat and clean, adequate kitchen, nice bathroom with tub; great location with nice coffee shop, supermarket, banks close by; Great landmarks within walking distance. A landlord who trusts, and who can be trusted. We would love to go back; we now have a home in Istanbul.

Metehan, I would like to take this opportunity for all the effort you have put in so far in making me feel at home as quickly as possible.
The flat at Palaska Sokak No. 5 is just magnificent. Very well maintened, not overlooking the slightest detail and wonderfully decorated and furnitured. It's a very cosy place, even in the midst of december.
It's location is right in the center of Istanbul and all it's activities, with excellent restaurants, café's and shops within walking distance. Yet providing peace and quiet when you feel like it.
Istanbul Sweet Home is really all what it says on the card or site: better than home!
