Hello, everyone!
I was browsing the web to recommend Ata's place to a colleague in Geneva and found this blog. We spent over a month in Karaburun last summer. We were very privileged to enjoy the lavishing hospitality of a friend, who offered her huge house up in the hills entirely to us - the family of four - with a gorgeous view of the sea and Lesbos. Eren introduced us to Ata and we called the place SERENDIPITY - a splendor of warmth and comfort in remote Karaburun. We spent all the days in Ata's place, enjoying the secluded beach, fantastic snacks, lunches, dinners and a special attention Ata generously offers to each of his guests. Uncle Erol is a true wonder. With my very limited Turkish aided by my husband's translation I deeply enjoyed the passion and excitement with which Uncle Erol was going over the movies of Fellini and Bunuel and quoting Che Guevara. As the conversation flowed into the Dolce Vita I thought that dressed in his chic white suit Uncle Erol truly reminds of Marcello Mastroianni …
Lots of fun, music, singing, dancing, fantastic food, very family like atmosphere, although much respecting your privacy, if you need one, - this is all Ata's Place!!!

We are wondering if you could provide a cooking class that can start at 7pm, one day this week or next week. We are attending meetings in Istanbul and it ends 6pm daily.l Currently there are 4 ladies interested but may have more. I would like to know if this is possible?

Thanks,
Midgie

Actually it's ok to take children but you should know there are no special activities or something for children and the place is quite isolated.

I took a half day cooking lesson at Cooking Alaturka last week. We cooked five different dishes - four savoury and one sweet baklava-esque dessert. It was a really great experience, I would highly recommend it. Everyone was involved with every element of the cooking, there were printouts of the detailed recipes and guidelines for you to take home and recreate them, and the food we made was delicious (!), which made for a lovely lunch. Really relaxing, fun way to experience some of turkey's culinary culture.

What a wonderful idea! I think that one of the wonderful things about Turkey is its fresh, delicious, healthy food, so it's great to hear that people are getting the chance to learn more about it.

I love the way you redecorated the back-side terrace, it looks even better now.
