A Tasty “Damat Paçası” Experience

Finally after couple of days, the sun showed its lovely face from behind the clouds today. Organizing most of our works in the morning, we decided to take walk around Galata, where almost half of our apartments are located, and have lunch. Enjoying the lovely weather, people and the sight (beleive us, you barely find time to enjoy this city between everyday work, therefore it was more than valuable to us to have the chance), we ran into our everyday route down to Galata Tower. Luckily, it didn’t take us long to spot this lovely, cosy restaurant which we already spotted weeks ago but didn’t find a chance to give it a try.

“Damat Paçası” is one of those little, cosy restaurants with a staff who welcomes you with a hearty smile, offering a variety of delicious food made by local women and a “not so expensive” price-list. Click to read the rest of this article

Göçebe Şarkılar draw on a repertoire of songs from Romania, Hungary, old Yugoslavian gipsy lands, Macedonia, Albania , Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Andalucía, Mexico, Italy, Anatolia, Armenia and Thrace as well as from Sephardic culture. They interpret these pieces in their authentic languages with the accompaniment of guitar, violins, accordion, and percussion; thriving to present the listener with a dynamic and different aural experience at each concert.

Let’s embark together on this journey of song, dance, happiness and melancholy…

GÖÇEBE ŞARKILAR:

Ahmet Tirgil - violin

Ayça Damgacı - vocal

Hakan Milli - vocal İnci Sunar - guitar

Dj Can at Barbahce on every Saturday night

Some of our guests who stay in our  gay friendly Istanbul apartments sometimes ask me for a recommendation for a good gay bar in Taksim area. I don’t know which one is recently better than the other but I know that it is always very fun and lively when my friend, Dj Can plays in a venue…Nowadays he is a resident Dj at Barbahce on every Saturday night and Barbahce is very close to some of  our  apartments in Cihangir area.

Istanbul apartments equipped with water tanks

It’s a hot summer this year and we are starting to see the effects of the global warming very vividly! The water reserves in the dams in Istanbul have been decreasing dramatically and we are often told to be careful about using our water. It’s also possible to see water cuts from time to time although most of the time they are said to be of common fault.

But wait! Now you don’t have to worry about water cuts in our apartments anymore! :) Because all of our apartments in Istanbul are now equipped with water tanks and you are not going to have to worry about water cuts during your stay. Certainly we still ask you to be careful about using water since it’s a global problem but it’s a good feeling to know that you are supplied with enough water for 1-2 day water cuts.

We have also made a list of “Our Standards of Service in our Vacation Rentals” in case you might want to check.
